OUR HISTORY AND HERITAGE
Founded on the principles of charity, unity and fraternity, the Knights of Columbus was established in 1882 by Father Michael J. McGivney, assistant pastor of St. Mary's Church in New Haven, Conn., and a group of parishioners. Their intent? To bring financial aid and assistance to the sick, disabled and needy members and their families.
Today, Father McGivney is being considered for sainthood.

Father J.T. Bolger Council 6161 is a proud partner of The Ontario Charitable Gaming Association (OCGA). Because of the OCGA, we can support our community across the Durham Region.

Coats for Kids exemplifies the Knights of Columbus’ mission of charity and providing for the most vulnerable members of society. Since 2009 we have provided warmth to over 1 million children in need.
